By being prepared you are taking preventative measures to ensure that you or a friend/family member will not suffer the horrible side effects that these diseases carry. It’s a simple process that you can do in the privacy of your own home. The natural cycle of your period holds these stem cells that can save your life. By taking action each month your menstrual fluid holds life saving stem cells. This innovative procedure is painless and done right at home. A woman’s body is amazing why not use the natural processes to improve our quality and length of our lives. It is incredible to think about how far technology and science has come over the past couple of decades. Diseases that were once thought of as death sentences are now being treated with the advancement of medicine. Our bodies are definitely small miracles and are capable of things beyond our imagination. I think it is about time we start looking at all the good that the advancement of medicine is doing instead of focusing on the negative.

Many will see C’elle stem research as controversial at first. Once you understand the process and realize that these life saving cells come from a natural cycle that occurs in women monthly you may change your mind. Take a minute to visit the site right now to get a better understanding of the Visit C’elle cell procedure. The process is painless and noninvasive. These cells that are collected are sent to a laboratory and held until needed by the donor or someone close to them. Bed Bugs

Posted by Gina on Jul 6, 2008

I can’t name very many things as disgusting as bed bugs.  Just the thought alone makes me not want to go to bed.  I recently started working at a hotel and have been hearing more and more about bed bugs.  About 2 weeks ago one guest was complaining that her bed had bugs in it.  I’m not even sure if it’s possible to see bed bugs bombs.  What ended up happening though was that we had to change her room and close off the old room until we were able to get it cleaned out.  Just a word of caution to those of you who travel a lot or need to stay in hotel rooms often.

Surprises at Work

Posted by Gina on Jul 5, 2008

I woke up for work this morning dreading the thought of having to go in.  It was early and I was up until 3:00 a.m. last night.  I managed to get up and get ready and thought it was going to be a slow day.  I planned on spending most of the day in my office relaxing.  Little did I know that two old clients from about 8 months ago decided to come back.  I was so happy to see their names on my schedule they were my favorite clients.  Unfortunately they had to take some time off because Melanie was sent to the middle east for 6 months.  Her job gave her no other option so she had to go late October last year and she just returned to the states in May.

I was so happy to see them.  She looked great and they both seemed so happy.  The last time I had seen either one of them was before she left and it was a very sad time for both of them.  Knowing the holidays were coming up and they would be apart was really hard.  I love the fact that they are back together today and have decided to keep coming in weekly for consultations.  That just gives me so much to look forward to on Saturdays.

More Dieting Advice

Posted by Gina on Jul 2, 2008

I work in the weight loss field so everyday I am getting bombarded with the latest dieting tips and advice.  Most of the time it’s very interesting information, but every once in a while you run across a new diet that someone has come up with and you wonder who in their right mind would ever try this.  Well yesterday after work I went to get a pedicure and of course I picked up the health and fitness magazine sitting there.  I can’t help it I’m addicted to this stuff.  Well a very interesting article was in there written by a doctor focusing on ways to help the obese lose weight.

The plan seemed simple enough, and I have to admit I’m almost tempted to try it myself.  It’s premise is a 50/50 approach.  Meaning you take the first day and do exactly what you are doing now.  So no dieting , no food restrictions, etc.  but then on the second day you barely eat.  Some people don’t eat at all, but the doctor recommended eating but eating only a very limited number of calories.  Which means cutting your calories to about 600.  Then the following day going back to normal and eating and so forth.  So basically you’re only hunger every other day unlike some diets that keep you hungry continuously.  The idea is to boost your metabolism and dieting like this has also been found to help with heart disease.  When our calories are limited our bodies have to work harder which in turn produces chemicals that are good for us.  This type of plan inspires me.  I’m not one who can stay on a restricted number of calories for too long.  I just love food too much.  But this 50/50 trade off is something I could handle.  Maybe tomorrow I’ll give the 600 calorie approach a try.

Advancement in Medicine-C’elle Stem Cell

I love living in this century.  I feel so blessed to be a part of this world at this time when new technology and medical advances are on the rise.  If you are someone who has always been healthy you may not think about ways in which you can stay strong and active throughout your life.  On the other hand if you are someone like me who has suffered with a serious health condition you try to stay up of the latest research.  I have been a Diabetic for over 30 years now and after reading about C’elle Stem cell research I feel there is so much hope for the future.

C’elle stem are cells that are harvested from menstrual fluid.  These cells can be transformed into many other stem cell types, such as neural, bone, and cardiac.  That is great news for anyone suffering from heart disease, osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s or Diabetes just to name a few.  You ask what’s in it for you and how it works.  Well it’s quite simple if you go to www.celle.com you can order the kit that allows you to collect fluid from your menstrual cycle.  Once you do that the sample will be sent to the laboratory and preserved for you in case you or a family member may need it in the future.  It’s sort of like taking out an insurance policy on yourself.  You will have peace of mind knowing that you have done everything possible in case a chronic or serious health condition hits you or your family.  Feel free to read more about it on the website including http://www.celle.com, it’s fascinating.

Mind Over Matter

Posted by Gina on Jul 1, 2008

Why is it that when you think about someone you usually end up seeing them or hearing from them!?  I have been thinking about one of my girlfriends the past couple of weeks on and off.  Then today out of the blue I get a call from her.  That may not seem all that strange, but the thing is we haven’t talked in about 6 months.  She lives out of state and has 2 little boys so her free time is limited.  I usually work late at night so we haven’t been able to catch up.

The thing I love about Lucy though is the minute we talk again it feels like no time has passed by.  I swear those friends are gifts from God.  She is like a sister to me.  One thing that keeps our bond so tight is that we both have Diabetes.  I got mine as a child and she came down with it in her early 20’s.  I really think God brings people into your life for a reason.  I feel so comfortable sharing my struggles with insulin reactions and food cravings with her.  I am so thankful for her and our friendship.

Lap-Band Surgery

Posted by Gina on Jul 1, 2008

New Hope Bariatrics is a center that performs the safest and least invasive weight loss surgery called lap-band surgery.  I am all for this method of weight loss.  I have worked in the weight loss industry for a number of years and have seen tears shed in my office due to women and men who have given up all hope to ever live a normal, healthy, life.  Their inability to lose weight on their own has in many cases caused then to suffer from depression, anxiety and a whole scope of other medical problems.

On the other hand I have also worked with clients who have successfully lost weight.  Whether people can do it with exercise and eating right or whether surgery is the answer for them I say it’s an individual choice.  The outcome is what really matters.  The lapband surgery has been an effective way for clients to reach their goal weight through a safe and medically supervised method.  The lap-band essentially makes your stomach smaller so you are able to feel full and satisfied with fewer calories.  I have only heard great things about this surgery and as I said I have been teaching weight loss classes for a number of years.  For more information feel free to go online to www.newhopetoday.com.  The website includes patient success stories and benfits of the procedure.  Facility locations include Los Angeles, Kansas City, and Charlotte, NC.

Interesting People

Posted by Gina on Jun 27, 2008

I met the most interesting person today.  Although I like to complain about my job and often times I feel like I want to quit, I have to say it is never boring.  The people that come into weight loss centers are fascinating.  One such person came in today.  Her name was Sarah and she was hoping to lose about 100 pounds.  The interesting thing was she had lost 91 pounds before but has managed to put it all back on and then some.

We start off asking our clients general questions.  For example, your day to day eating habits and activity.  Sarah told me that she shops everyday and eats out for lunch and dinner.  Basically that is all she does.  She didn’t have a care in the world.  But when I questioned her further I realized how unhappy she was and how she had no one to love or to take care of.  Everything in her life revolved around Sarah and what she was going to buy for herself and eat for that day.  It was so sad to see.  I left after talking to her and went on my break to count my blessings.  When you see something like that your whole perspective changes.

Vitamins and Supplements

Posted by Gina on Jun 25, 2008

Recently I started taking a multiple vitamin everyday.  I was feeling really tired and worn out a lot of the time during the day so I decided to try vitamins.  I can’t believe how good I feel now.  I have never been one to take aspirin or any kinds of pills.  Usually if I get a headache I just wait for it to pass.  But the amazing results I’ve had since taken vitamins has really surprised me.

Not only do I have more energy but I’m noticing my hair growing faster and my nails are looking better too.  I’m not sure if it was the calcium or vitamin D I needed or what.  I am just so happy to be able to make it through the day without feeling like I’m going to fall asleep on my desk.

Addictions

Posted by Gina on Jun 22, 2008

I picked up another tabloid today while I was at the store.  I feel like I’m addicted to these things.  Speaking of addictions I had to get a box of cookies and diet coke as well.  When I came home I found a carton of my husband’s cigarettes on the table.

I decided to do a search on-line on addictions.  I found out that many people have addictions.  The search took me to many sites that talked about drug addiction.  There is no way to determine how many people have died due to drugs because some end up in dumpsters, crack houses, etc. and end up not being accounted for.  Some other interesting facts included how we as human beings will often times break an addiction only to cover it with another addiction.  For example, a lot of times people will be able to break the nicotine addiction but by doing so they become addicted to food instead.  One other interesting point mentioned was the obesity epidemic, and how some obese individuals will have gastric bypass surgery to only end up with another addiction to replace the food addiction.  It’s hard to imagine a friend or family member suffering from an addiction; such as drugs, on a day to day basis.  I hope we never have to face that problem.
