Famous People

I can’t believe the story I just read about Shelley Malil. I can’t believe it. He was such an amazing actor and looked so normal. I still feel that people who are capable of murder or attempted murder should look different to us so we can spot them. Oh it is such a shame to be so successful and so well thought of and then to turn out to be crazy or worse yet evil.

It’s hard to imagine having a life so blessed and then ruining it all. He had family and friends and a great career as well as financial stability. I guess it is true what they say money does not buy happiness. For someone to come so far in such a short time and then throw it all away. We definitely need more prayers in this world and more focus on God and less on ourselves.

Mackinaw Island

Posted by Gina on Aug 3, 2008

In another post I wrote earlier I was talking about leaving my job.  I have done that and I feel a little sadness, but at the same time a sense of relieve as well.  I feel like I have my freedom back and more time on my hands.  I am going to use every opportunity that becomes available to travel.  In fact I am leaving this week to travel to Mackinaw Island, MI.

I haven’t been there since 1989.  Our high school trip as seniors was to Mackinaw Island.  The funny thing about it is I don’t remember much.  I know there are no cars on the island and to get around you have to ride on a horse or in a carriage.  There are no computers, no cell phone usage and no televisions.  I can’t wait to go but it is definitely going to be interesting.  I’m not sure how I’m going to survive without my computer.

Stem Cell Research-C’elle

Posted by Gina on Aug 2, 2008

Most of us know at least one person whether it be a friend, family member or a distant relative that suffers from Osteoporosis, Alzheimers, Parkinsons or heart disease. But did you know that you can take action now and start harvesting your stem cells to aid in a number of diseases that may strike within your lifetime. By being prepared you are taking preventative measures to ensure that you or a friend/family member will not suffer the horrible side effects that these diseases carry. It’s a simple process that you can do in the privacy of your own home. The natural cycle of your period holds these stem cells that can save your life. By taking action each month your menstrual fluid holds life saving stem cells. This innovative procedure is painless and done right at home. A woman’s body is amazing why not use the natural processes to improve our quality and length of our lives. It is incredible to think about how far technology and science has come over the past couple of decades. Diseases that were once thought of as death sentences are now being treated with the advancement of medicine. Our bodies are definitely small miracles and are capable of things beyond our imagination. I think it is about time we start looking at all the good that the advancement of medicine is doing instead of focusing on the negative.

Many will see C’elle stem research as controversial at first. Once you understand the process and realize that these life saving cells come from a natural cycle that occurs in women monthly you may change your mind. Take a minute to visit the site right now to get a better understanding of the Visit C’elle cell procedure. The process is painless and noninvasive. These cells that are collected are sent to a laboratory and held until needed by the donor or someone close to them. In fact, a special promotion is running called Caring is Sharing in which you can purchase this wonderful gift for you or a family member right now. What are you waiting for?

Tuesday Afternoon

Posted by Gina on Jul 23, 2008

Yesterday was a great day, not only did I have the day off but I got to spend part of it with my friend Peggy.  She is this woman I met at church.  She welcomed me when I was new to the church and has become a dear, sweet friend to me.  She is a friend to everyone she meets.  She is the kind of person who has a Christian heart and is always looking out for others.

I always make plans to stop over and visit her and each and every time the visit ends up being hours long.  I think I spent 3 hours with her yesterday.  It felt like 5 minutes, but when I left there I realized it was closer to 3 hours.  Everyone should have a friend like Peggy.  I love her so much she is always sweet and kind and patient.

Phone Calls From Friends

Posted by Gina on Jul 17, 2008

Tonight I was sitting in front of the computer looking at different websites and checking my email. The typical night around our house is my husband and I working on the computer. Tonight he was out at a meeting and will be there until about 11:00 p.m. Then out of the blue I got a phone call from my friend Rania. I haven’t seen her or talked to her in a long time and it was so great to hear from her.

She is the kind of friend who always calls at the right time. She is one of those people who everyone just loves. She is so sweet and kind and now that she just called me I’m missing her more. She wanted to get together tomorrow but unfortunately I had a doctors appointment scheduled and dinner plans. I was about ready to just say yes and cancel everything else, but I know sometimes you have to be responsible. The next time we talk though I am going to be free for her because she deserves it.

Paintball

Posted by Gina on Jul 16, 2008

The other night at dinner my girlfriends and I were talking about doing something new.  We have all been rock climbing, bowling, and one night went we went go-cart riding.  Then Maria had an idea to go play paintball.  We all had heard about it and thought it would be a whole lot of fun and a great work-out.  Not to mention something new and exciting that we had never tried before.

When I got home I found a great paintball site on the internet.  It’s easy to find and it’s called paintball .
The company has been in service for over 5 years so that was a great sign.  Plus the website offered so much information and equipment.  You could buy just about anything related to paintball.  The number of guns they sell was unbelievable and the different BT Paintball guns included Tippman A-5, Spyder Pilot ACS, Small Parts Ion, and many more.  If you have any interest at all in paintball you need to take a look at this website.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

Posted by Gina on Jul 13, 2008

I know everyone has their own opinion of these two, but I love them.  I think they make a great couple and are doing wonderful things for this world.  What happened between Brad and Jennifer Aniston we will never know, but we have to assume that it wasn’t meant to be.

As for Brad and Angelina I heard she gave birth to twins last night.  I am so excited for them.  They both seem to love children so much and by the looks of it they do a great job raising their children that they already have.  These last two will make for 6 children.  Their names are Vivienne and Knox.  I wish them all the best.

Teamwork

Posted by Gina on Jul 9, 2008

I have found it to be true that we are all good at something and not so good at other things.  The older I get the more and more I am noticing this.  Take for example all of your coworkers.  I work for a large hotel chain and depending on the night I work and who I am working with I know exactly what needs to be done.  Sarah is great with checking in the guests.  Martha is great at taking care of the paperwork and Brenda is amazing at making reservations.

I have come to realize that we all have to work together as a team.  Each one of us plays an important role in making sure that all the guests have a wonderful experience.  I love the customer service industry, and at this point I can’t see myself doing anything else.

Surprises at Work

Posted by Gina on Jul 5, 2008

I woke up for work this morning dreading the thought of having to go in.  It was early and I was up until 3:00 a.m. last night.  I managed to get up and get ready and thought it was going to be a slow day.  I planned on spending most of the day in my office relaxing.  Little did I know that two old clients from about 8 months ago decided to come back.  I was so happy to see their names on my schedule they were my favorite clients.  Unfortunately they had to take some time off because Melanie was sent to the middle east for 6 months.  Her job gave her no other option so she had to go late October last year and she just returned to the states in May.

I was so happy to see them.  She looked great and they both seemed so happy.  The last time I had seen either one of them was before she left and it was a very sad time for both of them.  Knowing the holidays were coming up and they would be apart was really hard.  I love the fact that they are back together today and have decided to keep coming in weekly for consultations.  That just gives me so much to look forward to on Saturdays.

Being Grateful

Posted by Gina on Jul 1, 2008

I have been asked before what my pet peeve is and at the time I could never come up with one.  It wasn’t that people never annoyed me or got on my nerves, but I guess I thought that maybe I was tired or having a bad day.  Lately though I have been noticing something that is really bothering me.  I think it is called people who are not grateful.  Bad manners are one thing but being sarcastic when someone is genuinely trying to help you is unacceptable.

One of my coworkers pointed out this pet peeve to me.  There was always something about her that got on my nerves.  I just couldn’t put my finger on it.  Then one day I was trying to help her with something and instead of saying thank you she was acting very rude and obnoxious.  I stopped her and said if you know how to do it then why do you keep making the same mistake?!  It was very frustrating.  Then I stopped myself as a flashback came to mind and I saw myself in her.  Many, many years ago of course but the same behavior has come out of me.  The disgust and shock I have felt about myself ever since, but I also learned a very important lesson.  Always be kind because a lot of times people don’t realize how they are acting.
