Bad Weather

The other night a bad storm came in around midnight and we lost power. Another one is coming in right now that made me think about it. It was so strange to go to bed without the television on. My husband and I lit candles so it wasn’t pitch black in our house, but even with the light from the candles it was still hard to get around.
We were both working on the computer when the storm came in. We’re both night people so staying up until 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning is not unusual for us. Once we lost power though the only thing we could do is go to bed. Lying in bed without any sound and without any power was a strange experience. As we both lied there we realized how our entire life revolved around noise. It felt so uncomfortable to be in the dark in perfect silence. The next day when we woke up the power was on and I have to admit I had such a peaceful sleep that night.

Yesterday was a great day, not only did I have the day off but I got to spend part of it with my friend Peggy. She is this woman I met at church. She welcomed me when I was new to the church and has become a dear, sweet friend to me. She is a friend to everyone she meets. She is the kind of person who has a Christian heart and is always looking out for others.
I always make plans to stop over and visit her and each and every time the visit ends up being hours long. I think I spent 3 hours with her yesterday. It felt like 5 minutes, but when I left there I realized it was closer to 3 hours. Everyone should have a friend like Peggy. I love her so much she is always sweet and kind and patient.

Tonight I was sitting in front of the computer looking at different websites and checking my email. The typical night around our house is my husband and I working on the computer. Tonight he was out at a meeting and will be there until about 11:00 p.m. Then out of the blue I got a phone call from my friend Rania. I haven’t seen her or talked to her in a long time and it was so great to hear from her.
She is the kind of friend who always calls at the right time. She is one of those people who everyone just loves. She is so sweet and kind and now that she just called me I’m missing her more. She wanted to get together tomorrow but unfortunately I had a doctors appointment scheduled and dinner plans. I was about ready to just say yes and cancel everything else, but I know sometimes you have to be responsible. The next time we talk though I am going to be free for her because she deserves it.

Shocking and Scary News

I couldn’t believe the story I read on CNN tonight. It was about 2 women who have been convicted of murdering 2 homeless men for their insurance money. This is one of the most awful news stories that I have heard in a long time. First of all the women who committed these two horrible murders were elderly women. One I believe was 73 and the other 77. The fact that they did this to two poor, homeless men makes it even that much more horrible.
They became friends with these men and then were able to get enough information to take out life insurance policies. At first the women said they targeted older men who were most likely going to die soon. What the jury actually found them guilty of was murder. Both men were run over and died from the accident. Both women received 2 life sentences and will be behind bars until they die.
Paintball

The other night at dinner my girlfriends and I were talking about doing something new. We have all been rock climbing, bowling, and one night went we went go-cart riding. Then Maria had an idea to go play paintball. We all had heard about it and thought it would be a whole lot of fun and a great work-out. Not to mention something new and exciting that we had never tried before.
When I got home I found a great paintball site on the internet. It’s easy to find and it’s called paintball .
The company has been in service for over 5 years so that was a great sign. Plus the website offered so much information and equipment. You could buy just about anything related to paintball. I know everyone has their own opinion of these two, but I love them. I think they make a great couple and are doing wonderful things for this world. What happened between Brad and Jennifer Aniston we will never know, but we have to assume that it wasn’t meant to be.
As for Brad and Angelina I heard she gave birth to twins last night. I am so excited for them. They both seem to love children so much and by the looks of it they do a great job raising their children that they already have. These last two will make for 6 children. Their names are Vivienne and Knox. I wish them all the best.
Local.com the easiest way to find information online

For the past couple of years I have been using the yellow pages online to find information about different restaurants, hotels, etc. When you work in the avertising field, like I have in the past you are constantly searching the internet for information such as driving directions, ratings on hotels, and more. The yelowpages.com was a big help, but sometimes I needed a little more information than what the yellow pages offered.
Since then I have discovered a better method for gathering information called local.com. Local.com goes one step beyond your typical search engine. It encompasses information from many different sources including the yellowpages.com, yelp.com, and city search. If you can’t find all the information you need on one of these sites you can search another one that local.com offers. It’s great it works as a one stop shop.
Great Customer Service

I had a great experience today at a drycleaners. It may sound strange but I had to go to the drycleaners after work and drop off about 5 things. For some reason I tried a new drycleaners because it was on my way home. Plus I have heard great things about this shop in particular and wanted to give it a try.
I went in with all my stuff and a young man about 20 came up front to help me out. He was so nice and so polite that it made my experience great. The prices were pretty high considering you can find pretty cheap drycleaners since there is one on every corner. The funny thing was I didn’t even care about the price after I had gotten such great service from Zachary. I guess I’m a little jaded I have been into too many stores where the help was just rude. Sometimes the employee is so young that they act a little obnoxious. I was just highly impressed with my service I received and will definitely head back there again.
