Decorating the House
Posted by Gina on Jun 30, 2008
This past weekend I had a couple of days off from work. It felt kind of weird to have so much free time. It helped me to relax and brought to mind some things that I have put off due to lack of time. One of those things is redecorating our house. We moved in about 3 years ago and still haven’t quite finished all the decorating.
I have decided to do some work on our family room. That is the room that we have neglected the most. It seems like that’s also the room that we are in the least. So my plan is to finish painting the ceiling and also to get rid of some of the clutter. Our house is pretty small so having too many books or magazines makes a difference. It makes the house look messy. So my next big task will be redoing that room. I can already envision what I want it to look like. I can’t wait until it’s done. I guess I put it off long enough it’s time to get started.
Structured Settlement Quotes

If there is one thing we can all agree on it’s that the cost of living has escalated. It scares me to think about the state of our economy. I’m fairly young so I haven’t lived through a depression or economic downfall, at least not one that I’m aware of. I know that going through tough times is just a part of life and I also know that eventually things will improve. In the meantime though, it’s nice to know that there are companies out there such as ones that offer structured settlements to individuals that can help out.
Structured Settlements are cash payments made to individuals from insurance companies due to an injury for example. What a lot of people don’t realize is that they may be entitled to a lump sum payout. With the high gas prices, the high food prices, and the high number of foreclosures occurring this may be something that would interest a lot of people. Many options are available including cashing in on some of your future settlement payments or all of them. You will be put in contact with a structured settlement buyer who will be able to go over all of your options with you. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by go to www.structuredsettlement-quotes.com. They have a lot of articles about settlements that can help you, such as the article about silence in the settlement factoring industry.
It is always a smart idea to do some research before jumping right in when money is involved. Also be sure to find out what the legislation is in your state for settlements.
Bible Study

I am doing a great Bible Study on Proverbs. I mentioned it to one of my dear friends and she bought me a study guide book to go along with it. It’s amazing how writing things down and actually taking time to go back and study them allows you to remember what you have read so much better. The book of Proverbs is only 30 chapters long yet the information you will acquire by reading it is beyond all expectations.
If you think back to when the Bible was written it’s hard to believe that those people who lived 2000 years ago dealt with similar situations that we face today. It’s hard for me to understand how that can be. Their lifesyle was so different than what ours is today. Yet the principles and ideas throughout the Bible are easy to relate to things that we struggle with now. I highly recommend the book of Proverbs to anyone who is looking for wisdom and understanding in their day to day lives.
Wireless Headsets

When you think about inventions what comes to mind first? Some might say the light bulb or maybe the telephone. But there is one invention that doesn’t get the praise it deserves. That invention is wireless headsets. These things are amazing, I absolutely love them. Not only do I use them when I work-out, but when I clean the house, when I go on long walks, or when I am on the computer. During work we all use headsets for conference calls or during internet trainings too.
I first started using headsets years ago when I worked in a call center. I received about fifty to sixty calls a day and had to keep the headsets on while I was at my desk. They were comfortable and easy to use. The calls came in clear and I remember reaching a point during the day where I forgot I was wearing them at all. Years later I discovered this internet site called mobilebloc.net that offered headsets at unbeatable prices. After researching a couple of different sites I went with mobilebloc. I decided to get some for my work-outs as well as some for the home. I love listening to music when I work-out and the headsets from skype wireless headsets make it so easy. The other use I found for them was when I’m cooking dinner or vacuuming the house. Those are always the times when my best friend is having a crisis and needs to talk to me. I can just put my wireless headsets on and talk to her while the vacuum is running or the food is being prepared. I love the fact that I can get two things done at once. My husband gets his dinner on time and Alley gets to talk to me about the latest heartbreak she’s facing.
This Past Weekend
Posted by Gina on Jun 29, 2008
This past weekend has been so busy. I purposely did that because my husband has been out of town. I wanted to stay as active as I could so I wouldn’t miss him too much. It didn’t quite work. I miss him a lot and ended up getting the stomach flu because I didn’t get enough rest. I guess I will know better next time.
On Friday I met a couple of my girlfriends out at an outdoor concert. It was so great to see them. I have known both of them for about twelve years, but only see them about once every 3 months or so. Unfortunately that has just started happening this year because we are all so busy. So after work on Friday I was really tired and I wanted to go home but I forced myself to go to the concert. Then Saturday morning I worked for a few hours and met Samantha out for lunch. I got there before she did and practically fell asleep on the table waiting for her. That should have been a sign. So here it is Sunday night and I am home with the flu. Thank goodness for the internet and TV to keep me occupied.
Criminal Defense Lawyers

When I began college back in the 90’s I studied Criminal Justice. I wasn’t quite sure where my degree would land me or what I really wanted to do with my life, but the study of criminal behavior fascinated me. In fact it still fascinates me today. I love reading books and watching TV programs that investigate crimes.
For some reason I have always felt compassion for the criminals. Of course I have always felt bad for the families and friends that were affected by someone else’s behavior too. I feel that everybody deserves a second chance. When it comes to California Criminal Defense Blog | Los Angeles Criminal Defense Attorneyssometimes we wonder why someone would choose such a career. Coming from a Christian household I always remember being told to hate the sin but love the sinner. I guess that piece of advice has remained with me and allows me to see that it takes a deep understanding in order to accept others behavior. I guess defense attorneys have reached that level of understanding as well.
Interesting People

I met the most interesting person today. Although I like to complain about my job and often times I feel like I want to quit, I have to say it is never boring. The people that come into weight loss centers are fascinating. One such person came in today. Her name was Sarah and she was hoping to lose about 100 pounds. The interesting thing was she had lost 91 pounds before but has managed to put it all back on and then some.
We start off asking our clients general questions. For example, your day to day eating habits and activity. Sarah told me that she shops everyday and eats out for lunch and dinner. Basically that is all she does. She didn’t have a care in the world. But when I questioned her further I realized how unhappy she was and how she had no one to love or to take care of. Everything in her life revolved around Sarah and what she was going to buy for herself and eat for that day. It was so sad to see. I left after talking to her and went on my break to count my blessings. When you see something like that your whole perspective changes.
Lane’s Car Products

I love cars. I always have and I always will. What can I say I grew up in Detroit, Michigan. Part of my family worked for Ford the other part worked for Chrysler. Although I don’t work in the automobile industry I have always taken pride in driving a nice looking car and taking good care of it, as well as my husband.
automotive leather care is the first site my husband and I go to when it comes to purchasing products on-line for our vehicles. They are experts in the detailing business. Not only do they sell products for the exterior of your car, but they also carry high quality products for the interior as well. Car detailing is what they do, so there is no worry about whether or not you’re getting the best products for your vehicle. My husband just recently purchased the brand-new 2008 Ford Expedition. I swear at times I think he loves that vehicle as much as he loves me! Seriously though he loves it and he has purchased products from Lane’s Professional Car Products website to make sure that it continues to look as good as new. We’ve had the Expedition for over 6 months now and you wouldn’t know it by looking at it. It still looks as good as the day he brought it home. All the credit for that goes to Lane’s Car Products. My husband purchased the auto polish, the wax and the car paint sealant right when he got the vehicle. To this day it still looks brand-new.
Traveling

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you want to go? I have thought about this before and would love to visit a country in South America. I don’t know why but I am fascinated with the hispanic culture and South America in general. Everyone I have ever met from Peru, Bolivia, Guatemala, etc. have been the most warm, kind, and compassionate people. One of my closest friends is actually from Guatemala. We get along so well I often times forget that she was raised in a different country. Our backgrounds are very similar although very different too.
I love living in Washington DC for many reasons. When I look around me though, I realize I am living in an area that is filled with people from every area of the world. Even if I don’t ever make it to South America I know that by living where I do I have already gotten a taste of it.
Visiting Mexico

I work at a beautiful 5 star resort. So when my husband and I go on vacation we like to stay at beautiful hotels. We have traveled a lot throughout the United States but are planning on heading out of the country for our next get vacation. My passport arrived about 2 months ago and we have finally decided on our next destination. We have decided to visit Mexico’s Isla Mujeres luxury hotel.
Finding the perfect spot to visit was not hard. Our choice was to go to Isla Mujeres, an island in the Mexican Caribbean. The most exciting part was finding the most gorgeous hotel to stay at on this island. It is called the Ixchel Beach Hotel. I found it on line at www.ixchelbeachhotel.com. It took my breath away. I can hardly wait to get there. The website is filled with beautiful pictures and a detailed description of everything the hotel offers. I have a feeling this is going to be the best vacation we have taken so far.
