Why I love payperpost

Posted by Gina on May 30, 2008

My sister-in-law told me that she has found a way to make money off of the Internet, through a company called payperpost.  She has been having a lot of trouble making ends meet, and this seems like a great way to help her through her hard times.  Thank goodness for the Internet!

The Big Day

Posted by Gina on May 30, 2008

I am so excited the day has finally arrived for the Sex and the City movie.  It officially comes out in the USA on May 30th!  That was my all time favorite show.  I still watch reruns when I get a chance.

Unfortunately I did a bad thing.  I saw that it was one of the top searches on Yahoo today.  So I read the reviews.  I tried not to but couldn’t help myself.  I am sitting here so mad at myself because now I feel like I almost don’t need to go see the movie.  The script was practically on the internet.  As I was reading it I pictured every scene in my mind.  It almost felt like a lot of episodes that I had already seen put together in a 2 hour movie.  I mean the same old thing, Miranda is mad at Steve, Charlotte is worried because her life is too perfect, Samantha and her problems with men, and of course Carrie and Big.  Basically it was the same old stuff but a different day.  Who am I kidding, you know I’m going to be waiting in line tomorrow night to get into that packed movie theater with ten thousand other women.

The Heart

Posted by Gina on May 30, 2008

The heart is an amazing organ.  In fact it’s the most important organ that we have.  When the heart stops beating death occurs.  Unlike other organs, for example the liver, when it is damaged it actually repairs itself.  The heart anatomy explains the blood flow to and from the heart and touches on factors such as stress, hormones, weight, etc. that can actually change how efficient our heart works.

I found this website very educational, because last month my cousin was hospitalized for an aneurysm.  The aneurysm was right next to his heart and was already starting to leak.  The doctor told him that he had 3 months at the most to live if they wouldn’t have found it.  It was caught only because he had gone in for a physical.  Thank God for smalll miracles.

Guatemala

Today has been such a great day.  I got out of work early; which is always nice, and I’m leaving to go on vacation tomorrow.  But the best part of the day came after I got home and read my emails.  My friend who is a missionary in Guatemala sent me an email with an update on how she is doing.  I always love hearing from her there is always something new and exciting going on in her life.

The latest is that she is currently teaching.  There school year will go on for another quarter so her year wont end until July.  She said she is having a great time, but has so much more appreciation for teachers now.  I have so much more appreciation for her.  When she left for Guatemala a couple of years ago she didn’t speak a word of Spanish, now she’s teaching in Spanish!  I also love the fact that this missions trip was suppose to last a year and now she has really devoted her life to being a missionary.  She is not getting a dime for all of her hard work and effort.  The only money they bring in is from donations from friends and family, and that money doesn’t even go to her.  It’s used to build schools, roads, houses, etc.  and for food and shelter.  She is such an amazing person I feel so blessed to be friends with such a sweet, caring person.

Low Cost Prescriptions

Posted by Gina on May 29, 2008

Wow the Internet is amazing.  I just found a site that allows you to buy prescription medications over the Internet.  For someone like me that is very exciting news.  I think I’m at the drugstore about 6 or 7 times per month picking up prescriptions.  Not to mention the last time I was there I practically got shot in the parking lot.  I was at the drive through window to pick-up my prescriptions because I thought it would be faster.  Boy was I wrong.  They got my prescriptions mixed up and it took about 20 minutes for them to fix the problem.  Lets just say the car behind me wasn’t too happy about it!

I know there are other pharmacies that have made buying online prescriptions easy to do as well.  But let me tell you why eDrugstore.MD is the way to go.  First of all the prices!  Second of all they even offer levitra! They will actually take $20 off all refills after your first order.  In addition to that you will recieve a free medical consultation, 24 hour customer service in case you have questions or need additional help, and of course the online pharmacy is open 7 days per week.  For someone like me who is a Diabetic, I am sold.

All the medications available on eDrugstore.MD are purchased from US drug companies and are FDA approved also.  How can you go wrong?  With the gas prices on the rise these days shopping on-line is the easiest, most convenient, money saving way to do your shopping.  Especially when it comes to something as important as prescriptions.  Just think about it, not only will you be receiving name brand medications, but you will be saving time, gas and money!  There really is no other option than purchasing your prescriptions from eDrugstore.MD.

This past weekend

Posted by Gina on May 27, 2008

This past weekend the weather was so gorgeous, I simply could not believe it!  According to the weatherman, this was the first weekend this whole entire year where we had two straight days of good weather!  My hubby participated in the Rolling Thunder motorcycle event on Sunday.  I wanted to go with him (I love riding the motorcycle with him) but I had to work, so I couldn’t go.  I heard later that there were over 350,000 bikers involved in the event this year!  What a sight that must have been!

Anyway, I consoled myself by relaxing a little bit out on the porch for a while before I had to go to work, sipping on some ice tea and snacking on some nachos.  Even though I had to work, it was a nice day, and I enjoyed as much of it as I could!

The Bathtub

Posted by Gina on May 23, 2008

The other night I stayed at a hotel.  Sometimes I just like to get away and have breakfast in bed and somebody wait on me.  I love sneaking away to hotels every now and then for these reasons.

I usually stay at this nice resort that is about 30 minutes from my home.  Immediately when I walked in I realized something was different.  I noticed a big hole in the ceiling right in the main lobby area.  I also noticed that part of the lobby was blocked off by yellow caution tape.  Of course I was curious about what was going on.  I mean you hear all these stories about people committing suicide in hotels, or other crazy things happening.  Plus I kind of feel like one of the family there, I know the whole front desk on a first name basis.  So asking about the situation wasn’t too out of line.

I walked up to Alex and asked what had happened.  He smiled and laughed a little and began to tell me that a man had fallen asleep in the bathtub.  A look of confusion must have come across my face, because I didn’t understand how that would have resulted in a hole in the ceiling.  Then he added that he fell asleep while the water was still running.  I had to laugh, I’m not sure if it was out of shock or confusion.   Either way it was funny.  As they say people never cease to amaze me.

Small Acts of Kindness

Posted by Gina on May 22, 2008

Everyday on my way to work I see about 4-5 homeless people.  Some are standing on the side of the road asking for money and others are sitting back and watching.  I always wonder how people end up that way.  What happens to an adult who goes from having a home, family, friends, etc. to basically having nothing?

I realize that there are many different reasons why people end up on the streets.  Drugs, alcohol, and/or mental illness can all play a part.  But it’s still a scary thought to think that that could happen to any of us.  Is it just a matter of bad choices?

Right next to where I work is a homeless shelter.  My other question is why would some of these people choose to live outside without any food rather than go to the shelter where food and a bed is provided?  I guess that is the only thing that puts my mind at ease when I see them everyday.  I know there are places they can go and get taken care of.  Once again I guess it’s their choice if they do it or not.

The other point I wnat to make is that I’ve seen so much generosity because of this problem.  Time and again people are reaching out of their car windows and handing over money.  It’s so nice to see that when a lot of times it’s easier to see all the bad in the world.

Going Fishing

Posted by Gina on May 21, 2008

I read the most unbelievable story the other day.  I’m so glad it had a happy ending.  It was about a young couple that fell in love and got engaged.  Once you’re engaged you wear your engagement ring everywhere, in the shower, when you’re cleaning the house, to bed, etc.  Basically it never leaves your finger.  It becomes so precious to you because it symbolizes the love between your fiance’ and yourself.

Well what happened to this couple is incredible.  After their engagement they went out on a lake that was behind their house to go fishing.  Everything was going great until Helen realized that her ring was missing.  It had slipped off her hand while they were fishing and was somewhere in the water.  At first they were both heart-broken, but then quickly realized that material possessions can be replaced.  After a couple of months went by the disappointment wasn’t quite as hard to handle.  She had a new engagement ring and everything was fine.

The amazing part of this story happened years down the road.  Once again her husband and herself went fishing on that same lake behind their house.  This time they caught something that they would never forget.  After bringing the fish inside that they had caught, they cut it open and discovered the ring!  Her engagement ring that she had lost years ago was inside the belly of the fish.  What an amazing story with even a more amazing ending.  I guess it’s true miracles really do happen.

Gas Prices

Posted by Gina on May 20, 2008

With the increasing cost of gas you would think there would be a lot less traffic on the roads.  Not the case here in the DC area.  The traffic is just as bad now as it was seventeen years ago when I moved out here.  The good news is I read an article the other day called “Slash your Gas Bill by 40%.”  The article was very interesting, but unfortunately it made no mention to quitting your job and staying off the roads.

The suggestions included things as simple as slowing down.  It said that for every five miles per hour you dirve over 60, you are actually paying $.20 extra per gallon.  It also mentioned that braking hard and accelerating were things that also ate up the gas.  Although we can’t always avoid certain things (like braking hard when you’re about to hit the car in front of us), the tips in general were really good.  One other thing that surprised me was the suggestion to take all excess baggage out of the car.  Now I realize pulling a trailor or having a car full of people will eat up gas, but I never really thought that every piece of excess baggage plays a part.  At this point I’m willing to try anything even if it will only save pennies at this point.  With the cost of gas even the extra pennies add up.
